Subhan Allah ... Subhan Allah ... What a Night ?

Wallah! Wallah!
      Kya noor kya nazara hai
Iss jashna ko dekh kay lagta nahee
         Yeh sheher hamara hai……
These were the exact lines that struck me when I entered the AKDR Lawns; with such awestruck and spellbound décor the Entertainment Committee transported us to an Arabic land. It was delightful to see all the committee members dressed impeccably welcoming us; as our fellow Platinos started pouring in, the sight just kept getting unbelievable, with most of the Sheikhs in their robes and the Begums in their attractive attire

Once the teams were segregated, Sheikh Abhishek took over the show with his immaculate Arabic accent; just when I thought they flew down a lady from Italy to be his begum in hosting, my wife pokes me and says, that’s the multi talented Sonal Daga.

There was not one moment when our attention was diverted since all the games were so engrossing. They hit it of with the “KISS” game where one sheikh of each team (captain) got kissed (molested) by his fellow mates…. Too bad I won the game; with sportive fellow platinos like Pradeep Daga and Susheel Sethiya, who wouldn’t miss a chance on kissing me, not once, but multiple times, with undying passion or lust, still confused

Then followed the “MEMORY” action game where it was hilarious to see each team enact. Manish Ghemawat as usual stole the show with his histrionics…

A breathtaking fire show was lined up for our recreation which certainly was hair-raising and a treat to the eyes.

Later followed a scintillating dance performance by Kompal and Deepti which drifted us to the deserts of Dubai; to add to the charm we also had Nitin Dangi shake his belly button, there were roars as he came on the floor (obviously by the men, esp. vikas rathi); dunno what’s with the Platinum boys….

My personal best was the “ICE” game. Newcomers Begum Nehal and Ankita
outperformed the others by standing on the ice slab for 6 mins. Not to forget the high energy dancers, Bhuvnesh and Ankit; who kept the floor heated….
Sheikh Abhishek then grabbed the attention of all the men towards the next game which involved a lot of pressing, squeezing and removing of………………….”JUICE”
All the 4 teams outperformed; coz when it comes to Dabana we have never done the Ghabrana… (Can’t get better than this)

An exciting “Crossword puzzle for the treasure” was the last and undoubtedly the most challenging game….. The four teams were frantically trying to finish the crossword which tickled their Arabian knowledge. It was team Baghdad that was quickest in solving the puzzle and finding the treasure; thanks to Harish Srisrimal’s quick googling capability…

Two instances that still make me laugh

1) Vikas Rathi, the Kajal eyed terrorist abducted Sheikh Abhishek as an answer to his question; poor MC pleaded for life and was granted
2) In the kingdom of Royal sheikhs “Father Kamlesh Bafna” arrived; I am sure he got confused between a sheikh’s and a priest’s dress…

To top it all the Arabian nights’ party ended with a sumptuous dinner with interesting salads; dips, falafel, mashed potato; wraps, pasta and the delicious mango mousse and brownie as deserts.

Like I always say; any Director is as good as his team is; and any club is as good as its members are; kudos to the extremely participative Platinos.

Nitin Dangi & Team: You’ve “HIT THE PURPLE PATCH”

Let’s see, what’s next….

Yours in Platinum
